Lost Units

These character portraits and units were cut from the final release of the game

Catman
It is unknown what race the Catman was was supposed to associate with.

Female Elf

Male Halfling

Although the “Lost Units” below were cut from the final release of the game, they have all been brought back in Warlock’s Rule-Set, the only known complete mod pack for Age of Wonders. Get it from the Misc. Downloads Section.

Silver Dragon
The Silver Dragon was to be the Human’s level 4 unit, but was replaced with the Air Galley. In Warlock’s Rule-Set it’s called Ancient Dragon, and doesn’t belong to any race.

Werewolf
The Werewolf was probably intended to be an Undead Level 3 unit. In Warlock’s Rule-Set the Werewolf doesn’t belong to any race.

Ghost
The Ghost was probably intended to be a monster not belonging to any race. In Warlock’s Rule-Set it’s called Undead Lich and is a pure evil undead creature that doesn’t belong to any race.

Necromancer
In Warlock’s Rule-Set the Necromancer is an Undead level 3 unit. It also appears as a stronger level 4 version called Master Necro, which doesn’t belong to any race.

Freezer
The Freezer machine duplicated the “cold breath” spell and was similar to the Flame Thrower machine. The Freezer is available in Warlock’s Rule-Set as an Elven level 2 unit.

Sargon
The Sargon was probably an early version of the Syron, but without the extra light effect.

Dismounted Leaders for all the races are available on a separate page.
