In the small elven kingdom Ertekir lived the ruler Arhain. Ertekir was almost isolated from the rest of the world and the fall of Inioch’s court didn’t affect them, except the decreasing trade. But all reassures they needed could be produced in the kingdom and therefore no one really cared. The goblins who lived with the elves, worked for them and even had elves employed in companies, didn’t care about the brutal wars that turned every race against each other, but when the years passed the humans sent the lord Bjoern to Ertekir to conquer it, and so he did. He burned the fortress Ertdass were Arhain lived and massacred the whole kingdom. But there were always survivors and the goblin city Skogsby was undetected and survivors from all over the forest managed to get there. The few surviving elves never became their old selves again, they had become so called Dark Elves. One of these elves, Ocur, announced himself as the new elven leader and built a armed force that raided the trade routes and the human settlements. At the beginning, lord Bjoern didn’t even care about the looters, but when a patrol found the city Vanuttur in ruins and cleaned from all things of value he decided to deal with the rebelling survivors. |

A really fine map! I am impressed by the fact its Error's first map and it clearly shows he mastered the map editor. Background doesn't rock, and it is a bit short, but still good, and quite original as well. There are also some message flags around the map, which adds some taste to atmosphere of the scenario. Same goes to the signs, there is few of them, but the texts are nice. This all makes a fairly good storyline. Terrain design could be simply brilliant, for the surface is rich in detail (esp. the forest), the way in which player's and Human starting holdings are located provides you some pretty tough combat, and there also the hidden underground lands - a pleasant thing, especially for those players who like doing some ,,tourism" on the map before winning. however, there also two things which spoil it. The Human leader is an isolated city far from AI main holdings, so you may kill him easily once you overcome first AI assaults. Victory simply comes too quickly, player doesn't have time for exploring the map; would be better if Human leader was placed in Fisus (that human city on a remote island). Whats more, the underground was a bit neglected when it comes to ,,eye candy", but it isn't too important. Finally, the creativity is nice, both in terms of story and map design (I liked the fact that Goblin leader is a Dark Elf). However, it's a little pity there are only two user-created heroes, and one item.
To sum up, it is an enjoyable map, especially when considered it is Error's debuthe. I would recommend everyone to play it, and I hope the author will keep up mapmaking in this fashion!
