Aul Hope is Gone
(An Arctic Wolf Scenario)

Princess Shira was by all accounts a completely hopeless leader. During her reign, the Southern Desert had become a tangle of unlinked towns and cities which never paid rightful taxes. Wild beasts roamed the deserts unchecked. Mercenaries were allowed to seize and imprison the local clergy and heroes over debts supposedly owed to Empress Reba of the Humans, even though these debts were never proven, and no seal of authority was ever shown from the Human regent. In all the state of affairs in the Southern Desert was all together unsatisfactory.

The troubles continued as the Great City of Bugleford in the mining caverns eventually rebelled, and even worse the Great Captial of the Azrac Empire 'Aul Hope' ceased communications with Princess Shira and cut off any Armed support. Whether the City met with disaster or just refused to continue to support Shira was completely unclear but to the citizens of the Southern Desert it must truly have seemd that Aul Hope was gone.

Then something wondrous occurred. Princess Shira went on a holiday. This remarkably coincides with the beginning of our scenario. Her sister, Shirall could not believe the luck of the Azrac people. With Princess Shira gone she could embark on a daring plan. Rallying the Azrac peoples Shirall vowed to rebuild the Southern Empire. The only problem was the dreaded beasts roaming freely just outsde the city gates... and the nearly empty treasury... and the loss of contact with Aul Hope... and the rebellion of Bugleford.... and ... well you get the idea. There was more than one problem to be solved.

Oh yes.... Shirall almost forgot. Rumours had been circulating that the Halflings had begun to march. A silly rumour.. who ever heard of marching Halflings. The Goblins or Frostlings maybe, but they were far to the north. But Halflings marching to war... that was just plain nonsense!

Authors Notes:

This is a single player scenario with only one playable race. Azracs.
All settings are as they should be for a challenging but manageable scenario. Please play with these additional settings:

Leaders Off
Explore On
Customize Leader Off

Do not use ships or boats on the surface level. The computer controlled races do not build ships so to keep it fair and challenging you should not either.

Also note that Hero levels have been capped at 12, and spheres have been limited to five. Use levels and spheres wisely.

I consider this a Beta version well playtested but in need of a little more feedback.
Please place comments in the downloads section and feel free to rate the scenario.
Optional Music files are included with the download.
If there is any interest I shall consider doing a Warlocks or Lighthawks version of the map.

Because this is a single player scenario I have password protected the map to keep the surprises secret.

Oh and I almost forgot The file contains new Azrac style music if you care to install it.
