Another one in the series of Warm Crevice maps by Roger the Rampant, this is a good vs evil multi-player map. Playable races are Dark Elves, Goblins, Elves and Halflings. These small maps are ideal for playing by email, and in this one there are no player-accessible teleporters
Various spats had taken place in Warm Crevice over the years between the good and the evil races, but the good had always been outwitted. The keepers were desperate to hang onto an area with such fertile soil, lucrative gold mines and historical significance. In the area of Mirkwood, on the southern borders of the shire, the reign of the Dark Elf leader Black Knight just went from strength to strength, and the keepers wondered if he could ever be evicted or, better still, destroyed
Then a new hero, Hardof Hearing, offered his services to the Halfling people. As well as the common keeper skill of forestry, and advanced spellcasting ability, he had gained other abilities more often associated with the cult of storms. He could regenerate, healing himself after battle. He could steal life from his enemies, becoming stronger while sapping the strength of his opponents. His engineering background also gave him the ability to crush stone walls, by simply digging a channel along the edge of the wall, then striking the base of the wall with the pommel of his broadsword. The keepers found their people were filled with a new enthusiasm to rid the shire of the evil races once and for ever. The Halfling leader Bandobras forged an alliance with Thranduil, the Elf leader. Hearing of the new-found determination of the keepers, Black Knight strengthened his grip upon Mirkwood by allying the Dark Elves with their old cronies, the Goblins, egged on by their humourless leader, Bolg. The scene was set for an epic battle - so go for it!
Many thanks to Newsboy555 for making various items and heroes for this map

Thought I pick a small map to start playing again. I was surprised to find a map of this size so well designed. I like the details put into this map. And I also like it that you can actually see some of your opponents starting positions. The AI is bit slow in going aggressive, but if all 4 players were human, I think it would be a very good fight. Nice surprises on the map as well. |
