This is my 1st Cavern World I ever created so far.
It's rather to explore unknown Paths deep down the Earth than defeating anyone.
This is my Way of creating Maps, inspired by "DWARF FORTRESS".
Therefore it's always meant to dig a lot - And you're supposed to play the Dwarfes.
The Option to choose the Undead are only for Help - If you consider actually winning the Map ASAP instead of exploring it!
Actually there are only 2 Ways to actually win for good:
Find the save, hidden Place of Peace, which can't be reached just by your Feet -
Or beat the dark Force that's hidden behind insanely deadly Paths!
But for now you just got to:
Discover various Places & Cities
Beat various Creatures & Enemies
Find several Artifacts & other Things to improve your Power.
And always: Use as many Moles as possible to access more Paths, since you don't have any Pickaxe like in DF!
Enter the Cavern- & the deep Level. Enter Caves within the Caves!
This was an okay map if you like to explore terrain and find hidden places. The final battle can be easily won but I won't spoil the fun for others by revealing my strategy. It would be nice if you removed the ability to win by capturing the small Halfling town. I tried playing the Undead and was doing well until the Dwarves captured that town and won by default. The challenge of playing as Undead would make for a great map otherwise.

Really? You tried the Undead; Ok so far, that was not supposed to be, but for some Reasons I didnt make Undead a Default-NPC. And actually, it's really a Matter of insane Fortune winning that Battle. Even if you know where the HalflingTown is, you'd need a good Strategy to reach for it.

To play the Undead you only need to research Warp Party then cast the spell and hope to land in an area that is somewhat safe. You then proceed from there and attempt to build your strength and forces. I was well on my way to doing just that but the A.I. Dwarves captured the Halfling town and that ended the game. If you could release a version that removes that default win setting, you would have a good challenging map for the veterans. I have been playing AOW since it was released (20 years ago?) The very best maps are the ones that make the player really think hard about how order to overcome seemingly impossible situations.

After Upload, I realized the Path to the Village is too easy. Thought they found the Path by Teleports too easily, but as I checked:
They took the Way by the Surface. Gotta block that Way.
Also I considered to disable playing Undead; But I thought it may be helpful to have that Option & check the Enemy's Position somehow.
Still, my Intention was to explore. Finding a quick Way to win should be rather unlikely - And no Fun!
If you find the Teleport to Halfling-Town by 1st Try, you're very lucky. Or unlucky, depending on Point of View.
