Sword and Sorcery Ruleset (obsoleted by Ziggurat Mod)

Ziggurat Mason To install, simply over-write your Release folder with the contents of the Release - Sword and Sorcery folder, and ditto for your Dict folder and this download's Dict folder. (The dict is just for renaming a pair of abilities as mentioned below)

The full changelog can be read here:

1) Archers are weaker, swordsmen are stronger.

2) The three types of priest - Priests, Clerics, and Shamans - now have different abilities and stats. For example, Shamans don't know Turn Undead or Dispel Magic, but their melee attack is stronger, with Cause Fear and Lifestealing.

3) Every weak unit is a lot stronger. For example, Giant Slugs now have 9 HP and a couple extra abilities, such as wallclimbing.

4) Many units have extra abilities, especially abilities that were little seen beforehand. Some units like Fairies and Nymphs cannot fight in Melee any more, but are stronger in other ways.

5) Every race now has their own 'racial ability' which heroes get for free and units get at Gold Medal. For Orcs, this is Round Attack, for example.

6) Heroes can select from a vastly increased array of abilities. They can even learn to fly, but it costs 48 levelup points.

7) The 'Dragon' and 'Dragon Slaying' abilities have been renamed to 'Monster' and 'Monster Slaying', and a lot more untis now have these abilities.

8) Some unused terrain-specific structure graphics and sound effects have been implemented. For example, in TS136, underground Shipyards and Builders' Guilds don't look different when razed - this mod fixes that.

10) Most spells have had their mana costs massively reduced, especially Fire spells and battle damage spells, but also including elemental and dragon summons, which are now a very important lategame goal.

11) Warships have been reworked, so that it's *really* worth it to get the bigger ones up and running.

12) I am gradually rewriting the unit-tab lore for every unit, to be more expansive and describe more of the world of Athla. This is still a work in progress, but I am trying not to alter the lore or tone from Ray Bingham's original ideas.

6th October 2020, minor stat adjustments and getting rid of some unnecessary changes.

very good archer nerf & swordsman boost with Def

lower Resistance means the spells are more effective.

lower spell cost = more spell are used

very good hero skills costs
