This is the second part of what is probably going to be a 5-part campaign. It follows the story of young prince Harrit in his attempt to escape damnation.
I strongly recommend that you play the first part before starting this one. You can find the first chapter here http://aow.heavengames.com/downloads/showfile.php?fileid=991
This second part of the campaign offers new challenges that will surely make you want to find out what happens at the end.
Since the AI in AoW isn't much of a challenge after a few turns played, I have decided to add new elements in the making of this map. You will now play with diplomacy, riddles, puzzles, mazes and so much more.
The scenario is pretty much going in 1 direction; making it a single player, role-playing game; where you play the role of prince Harrit.
There are 3 XL map levels that you'll have to explore. Also, you will find new heroes, items and challenges that I hope you will find interesting.
The difficulty is set to hard, because there are some obstacles of a bit higher difficulty.
Map Settings (Very Important!)
Leaders on map: ON
Exploration: ON
Allied Victory: OFF
Customize hero: OFF
Spells "Town Gate" and "Warp Party" must Not be used at any time.
If any of these settings are set differently, the map will not work right.
Storyline:
"Shadows of the Past, Chapter II: Journey to a Settlement
"... Prince Harrit touches the Life Node's core with ruthless agony. Silence. Then a shockwave of pure white energies strikes down all of the people gathered at the site. Again silence. While everyone lies down, dazzled, stunned about what had happened, Harrit is nowhere to be found. Only his black cape is seen floating in the air, slowly falling to the ground... Chill winds beat down on the confused army of undead reunited under the black flag of Hindemith.
"- He is gone, my brothers. I pray for him and while we have not yet found our rest, I would hope he has found his."
While his men lie puzzled on the ground, the demented Harrit is taken into a white light vortex. Tortured, scarred, beaten by the white light which emanates from within the life node, the young prince screams for help. But nobody is there to aid him.
For centuries he drifted inside the white beam's energies...
Suddenly, the pain stops. The light is gone. And so is he...
Unknowingly, he had been teleported to distant lands, far away from his kingdom; banished to wander the earth, searching for a reason to keep on going.
His eyes open, but he cannot stare at the pure white around him, so he closes them. He gets up, blind and not knowing what had happened. He bumps into a rock and slides down a mountain, injuring himself. Weakened and confused, he manages to open his eyes and sees the reflection of his face in a small pool of water. Amazing. Though he cannot feel any pain or sensation whatsoever, he can see that some of his humanity has been given back to him. His bones, his flesh, regenerated and whole. But he still cannot feel the touch of what appears to be a large wasteland of pure white, cold, snow.
Though he has no idea where he had been taken to, he quickly realises he had been ported far, far away from his homeland. Depressed and tormented, young prince Harrit gets up and spots his trusted horse, Sunbeam, watching over him. And even if his beloved companion is not what it once was, Harrit knows he can always count on his friend to be there by his side.
Weakened and dazzled, the young prince mounts his horse and rides on to find another life node in the hope that, eventually, he would be restored his right to live.
But first, he needs to figure out exactly where he is... "
