No, I'm not new here, but you might be? If you want to post an introduction of yourself to let us know who you are, this is the thread to do it in! Don't be shy!

You'll find short introductions of all the staff on the Staff Bios page, if you're curious about who we are.

Hi All,

actually came here to get some tip on gameplay. I have to admit I got AOW II of a friends PC and I managed to figure out a lot of things without a manual. The only thing I haven't figured out is how to build up a destroyed building or city. I hope I can get that info here and a friend or two on the way.

Welcome back, Ben. I remember you!

To xpod2000:
If I am correct, you move the pioneer on top of the ruined city (the centre hex). Then, if you click on the pioneer (to view it's abilities), there should be an option highlighted that says [rebuild city]. Double click that, and your pioneer will disappear and in one day a new city wil arise!

Hope to see you new guys around more here!

Hello, my name is Mike.

I'm here looking for some great games. I'm not new to AoW, just the multiplayer aspect (SP noob, fresh for the slaughter! ). This may be a little late as AoW is getting on in it's years, but I'm hopeful some awesome players are still around.

Other games that I play are StarCraft, Diablo 2, Shogun: Total War, and Caesar 3 with the odd strategy-type game thrown in.

That's about it I guess? Anyways, I'm looking forward to some good times ahead.

Ok, some of you people might know me, etc. I don't have AoW, but, I just came here looking for some great conversation with all you intelligent people.

Just realized I never posted here

I've been a member since the dawn of AoW Heaven (When Nojd kept spamming the Lifeline with adverts for it ) but just started seriously posting now.

I'm currently the undefeated champion of the AoW 1 PBEM Wizard's Ladder, and I've been banned from Gamespy for winning too many games.

I signed up a while back but haven't really posted much. Mainly as some things around here seem a bit slow. At least the areas I know I'd post something in. I've had AoW 1 for years now and just recently purchased it again to get AoW 2. Really looking to get Shadow Magic. I haven't had too much time to play for a while, though, and still haven't even touched AoW 2. Hoping to change that and get some play online ( Since all the people I know don't want to even touch the games ).

Welcome! I also signed up a while ago and didn't post much until the start of this year.

Hi all. I just found the forum today. Looks like a pretty good forum so I decided to register and jump right in. I got and played AoW right about the time it originally came out but never got all the way through the game. I recently found the Masters Collection on sale really cheap so I jumped at the chance to get the sequel. I'm in the middle of different game right now but plan to start up AoW once I finish. Hope I can get some tips once I start. When I played before I got stuck a level with some caves and was never able to come up with a workable strategy to get through. It wasn't the cave level that was timed, though I've only gotten through that one once and can't remember how I did it. Until I'm ready to play though I think I'll just spend some time reading and maybe getting to know the forum better. Who knows, maybe I'll find some good tips in some older threads.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Hello, my fellow AOW fans.

Since I got my first computer in 2002, I have been lurking game forums like AOW heaven.

For the first year, I was a lurker. But I registered last summer so I could be a part of some discussions about the game.

Admittedly, I have already made a fool of myself a few times here on this forum......(And I'm not alone)...... but I am learning about myself, so that is a good thing.

I have been an isolationist for decades, so my communication skills are very low (but they have been improving).

I hope nobody has been offended by my stupidity/obstinance.

I have a 'dense thicket' for a brain, but the lightbulb can be turned on.

Hey, Wassup?

Reading through the posts I was afraid I am answering to a 2-year old thread...

I'm not really new here, I played PBEM's and visited the discussion forums a couple of years ago.
(I still knew swolte as 'norm'. Congrats swolte )

Now I have broadband and some time on my hands, so I thought I'd say hello to all of yous.

What's the thing with making a new account because of forgetting your password?
I could not remember my old password for the hell of it, but I got a new one sent to me by heavengames in an instant. No need to make a new account. (Or is that a new feature only available since last *hrmp* year?)

Cheers and greetings

PS: Oh, and I even got around making a map (if mapmaking is still sought after since the RMG in AoW:SM).

Chaos is ever-present, unavoidable, even necessary. Chaos is the way of time, the way of nature, the way of unthinking animals. Chaos will happen. But sentient, thinking beings do not need to help it along. Law is the effort of the civilized to slow chaos, to keep destruction at bay long enough so that thinking, dreaming, hoping, and loving can occur.

Hello! My name is Albert, and I very tall. Hence my name! I'm 24 and have been playing Age of Wonders pretty much since it came out. I'm not too big on online stuff but I've been downloading and playing the maps for a long time. There's quite a few out there to keep me busy. You'll see me rate one every once in while!

Anyways, I'm the hardcore player, Albert! (But I don't give away my secrets...)

Hi! If you don't know yet - beholders are chtonical and arthropodean animals.
I'm fan of Kipling (BTW, here's good collection), Herbert, PTerry and Gamma Ray.
And now i'm more or less advanced StructureLook user (if you want to get new Hiew, visit this site instead).
PawelS sent me first structure-definition file for AoW II/AoW:SM resource file (UnitRes.pfs), then i used his file to continue research, and now STL with my scripts can interprete most resource files, but now it's mere beta-version. I used this STL-pack and Hiew to edit .fx files for 1.4 UPatch.
Therefore - bye, i'm going to continue... to tinker some of more complex effects.

Hello! The names Lord Naismith, and my story is pretty much like Greywind. I think I am answering to year-old threads as well, and I did just reasontly get high speed internet, and I do have more time on my hands hehe. I did not make any maps though heh heh, I just started playing PBEM Co-op games, and I LOVE 'em! Anyone that is still alive here who is able to find the MOST CHALLENGING Co-op game map to be found, count me in for a game allied with ya, I think working with others is great! What else about me? I am basically reading all the forums and posts slowly, and gaining a better picture with each post how life a AoW heaven here must have been like when each forum was so active! Anyways, cheers, and good luck to the soul who next decides to post here, I get the ghostly feeling it might be for a few more years! ;D

Cheers everyone! Remember, if you want a Co-op game, Lord Naismith is always waiting in the PBEM forums of Age of Wonders the classic! ;D

Hello I'm firegalley246 and I've owned Shadow Magic since December 2003 but have had next to no time to play it until recently, so my skill level and experience does fit into the newbie category.

It really is amazing to see that this community is very strong and so active every day. Here's a hoping that this continues for many more years to come!

Anyway, as a newbie I'm currently trying to improve my game (through SP against the AI) and am on the lookout for getting into PBEM games with other people, like me, who aren't that experienced. But of course I'd be willing to participate in any PBEM game given the chance.
