I just wanted to add that this tale of downloading woe has a happy ending(I think).

I decided to try and download the mod again last night straight up with no outside software help, hoping that my connection would miraculously stay up somehow. Well it did, at least until it got down to 20 minutes left, that's when it dropped of course. After much gnashing of teeth and disappointment I decided on a whim to try it again just to see what happened. Lo and behold it resumed! Don't ask me how or why(since I didn't use Getright) but it did. I'm not sure if maybe the file or site was set up to resume and that's why they ask you to disable download managers and accelerators but either way it worked.

The only problem now has been the missing units. I plan on downloading the patch tonight(which takes close to 3 hours according to my downloading estimate) and hopefully that will fix it. From what I have seen of the mod it will be worth it if everything works out okay.

Cool! I've found that if my internet settings has "never" selected for refreshing a web page, and the page is still open when the connection drops, that I can pick the link back up again where it left off. Anyone else found this?

Congrats Bam! I'm glad you made it, I'm sure you will enjoy it Patch will definately fix missing units.

I've had that resume thing once in while, not as reliable as Getright but sure did work for you

downloaded dwiggs 1.4 patch again, same units are missing and razing cost 1 gold while its written that this file is updated

patch update worked fine though

btw in description of the storm mage written :

Head of the Cult of Storms, usually a former Executioner of the greatest reknown, the High Priest leads the Dark Elf legions to battle. His banner is the thunder cloud, surrounded by streams of lightning from which a dark magic flows to the terror of his enemies.

and these super executioners lost lightning strike, its because of their old age ?

Stranger and I have posted the first of a series of maps designed for Dwiggs in its last iteration.

There will be a companion map to "Four Against The Darkness" that is not a campaign map, but rather a follow up on the same world, different continent. Working title is Final Fight Against the Darkness. First is designed for MP4, with SP variant; second is designed for MP6 also with SP variant.

Thanks to Merkraad for vetting the maps and looking for obvious glitches.

We have two more in different states of development that explore some of the new races. With any luck at least one of them should be up by the end of November, and the fourth before Christmas. As with the first two, they will have both MP and SP versions.

OK... i just want to say in advance, I love the mod! Thanks Stranger and Dwigg. lol

But anyways, I have some problems... I'm not 100% sure if its the mod and not the patch, but I have some weird renaming issues for the spells. Most of the renames seem intentional but one in particular is obviously not

Dire Penguin is called a Red Dragon

that doesn't seem quite correct.

also... there are some other renames I noticed that are strange.

Shadow Walking renamed to Blood Lust
Chaos Spawn renamed to Nature Elemental
Fairy renamed to Purger
Chaos Spawn renamed to ... I can't find it lol.
Same goes for Mist Cloak

there's more, but anyways, I dont really find it that annoying.. but it's kind of strange to be summoning a Chaos Spawn but then its called Nature Elemental.... I like the original names for the spells for the most part.

When ever you switch to or from dwiggs you need to switch a ResStr.mld file.. I name the basic one old resstr.mld and the dwiggs resstr.mld. If its dwiggs I take out the dwiggs part and put in the old on the other file and visa versa. Hope you understand.

AFAIR purger takes the place of fairy. Nature element takes the place of chaos spawn. Are you sure they are named wrong? You cast the spells under dwiggs mod & saw what appeared?

BTW if I remember correctly, the picture of the spell does not change. But that doesn't mean the spell itself didn't change(summoning based on its name that is)

Does this patch remove Syrons, Shadow Demons and um.. Draconians, or just adds three races? Otheerwise it looks quite promising...

This mod replaces them.

Syrons become the Fey Folk, Shadow Demons become Demons and Draconians become the beloved Lizards (Lizardmen).

If you are new to mods, a bit of advice is in order, worth every cent you paid for it. Download the mod and select the Resource set for it. Then go to the Editor and set up as though you are going to build a map; this will enable you to study the units in detail, as well as see all of the new terrain tiles and magic--both spells and items. Further, you can peruse the heros at your leisure and read all about them. I might add that the unit descriptions are worth looking at as well.

This done, you will have a pretty good idea if this mod is for you.

It didn't take that much effort. I just made a blank map and put all the racially based units around their respective towns, then put the other units and heroes in separate groupings.

HI
I'm new on this forum and i have problem with download dwiggs. When I end downloading file, I can't unpack this file. I see ERROR, and the file have only 116mb. I used WinRar WinZip and Allzip, and I downloaded the file 7 times. Please help!

You should just double left click it, I think it's an exe file.

To @Ricewind I also have WinRar I right-click on zipped Dwiggs1.4 then click 'extract here' and it's works.Well I download it on desctop directory not into WinRar archive

Good Morning Camper,

I have a question about changing resources in the setup routine. When I select the pull down menu I have an option for Dwiggs_patch 1.4, and Dwiggs 1.4. Does it matter which one I select.

Also has anyone got this mod to work with the scenario Althedore II. I tried to play this online with a friend, and we kept getting a incompatible resource error, this was after I opened the scenario in the editor and resaved it under a new name.

I assume that we both need to have the correct/same resource selected in the setup menu.

Love the mod btw, it has put a lot of life back into the AOW/Sm.

Hi Aslmaster,

and thanks for posting I reccomend choosing Dwiggs_Patch1.4 as your resource set, as it fixes a few things (and creates a few bugs too! But those will get fixed).

I worked for months on Athendore II and made a Dwiggified compatible version, then stupidly lost it somehow. Now I can't load my saved version. I'll try working on it again, but I was too discouraged recently to even look at it.

Thanks for the timely response.

I have an interesting issue, and I am curious if you have ever seen this before. This is a bit complicated so I am going to do my best to explain it completely.

I built a custom map using the resource Dwiggs 1.4_patch.
A friend and I tried playing the map. Both of us had the Dwiggs 1.4_patch resource selected, but my friend would get an error "incompatible resource".

Next step was we both switched to the resource Dwiggs 1.4. Using this configuration my friend was able to connect to the scenario select screen, but the game would hang when it tried to syncronize.

Next step was to rebuilt the map using the Dwiggs 1.4 resource. When this was done we both were able to connect into the game, and the game syncronized just fine, and we were both able to successfully start playing the game.

Is it possible there are differant versions of the Dwiggs 1.4_patch floating around? Is there a big differance between Dwiggs 1.4 and Dwiggs 1.4_patch, that will make our lives miserable later in the game?

Yes, if one person has installed the missing ilbs resource set - http://aow2.heavengames.com/downloads/showfile.php?fileid=758- and the other hasn't, they will have different versions. If you both install and run this, there should be no problems
