Air is right about leprechauns, even when put in walled city two executionaries usually won against one lep.
Though executionars are generally very effective for their cost anyways so maybe not exactly the most fair comparison. Their life steal, high attack, energy drain, charge, speed etc. means they are fearsome for 150. Even more so with enchantments that boost attack or when they outnumber their enemy.
Leprechauns also have abilities that are hard to measure in raw combat sense. Steal enchantment. Invisability. Phase. Taunt. Float. Magic immunity means they never have to worry about being hit by a tower defense bolt and if it were coupled with liquid form means physical protection unbypassable by EW. (granted plenty has other kinds of attacks too)
I'd also like to note that the dark elves special structure gives 20 research and 15 mana. Maybe that could use some nerfing? Or not, I don't know.
*edit in*Some more testing
3 executioners (450 gold) usually won and won well against one titan (480 gold)(though the few times they lost, they did so spectacularly)
Pretty even 2 executionars (300 gold) against one kharagh (340) with a slight favoring of the executionars.
Kharagh against a leprechaun, the kharagh usually won. But put that leprechaun behind a wooden wall where its magic bolts have more time to work against the kharaghs low resist and the leprechaun usually won.
After these tests, I recommend executionar become slightly more expensive, (perhaps 160 or 170?) and titans become a little cheaper.(archons are already punished gold wise, not exactly the best production wise either) Or that they get a stunning strike at gold (lightning strike or if you can put stun on their strikes like a magicians bolt) representing them learning to hit their enemies with such force they are stunned.
Concerning gargoyles. They aren't exactly the strongest unit. They can fly but do so slowly & without vision. Mediocre/lowish stats for a level 4. Rune master has almost as good of stats for less then half the cost. Ents can drag them out of the sky and kick their asses.(of course ents are pretty bad ass now) They got some immunities and physical protection but EW easily bypasses that. Perhaps gargoyles could have damage wall? Their stone hands able to dig in and destroy the walls of a structure. It would become the only flier I know of that has such an ability.
