One thing should be clarified off the bat: GS Dwiggs is not a different version of Dwiggs. It is more or less exactly the same mod as Dwiggs 1.4 Patch with some helpful tweaks made by Merk to suit the online community. Some of you don't seem to realize that the 1.4 which you find quite superior to this tentative model was also made by me (and by many other community members)....The differences:
Structures in which Units can be hired don’t generate
Avengers anymore after razed. Archon Crusader: -1 DEF (8, Was 9); -1 HP (15 was 16). Fey Folk Dragon Hatchling: Now he has Morph (Faerie Dragon) at gold medal. Halfling Gardener: Path of Life at Silver Medal, instead of Gold medal.
This is also not the place to debate whether one rule set is better than the other. It's a place to discuss the ruleset under development, and to try and implement concepts that improve it. Denigrating a new rule set by lauding an older version and trying to influence the development of the new one with calls to play the old one (BEFORE THE NEW ONE IS EVEN OUT!!!!) seems bullying and unfair to me. After all, I'm not in here making demands that people play one mod or other. I'm trying to make this the best and most interesting mod that I can. And sometimes I make bad choices, which I'm glad to have pointed out. Comments comparing features of different mods and EXPLAINING why one concept works better than another is very helpful and is appreciated.
Some changes that I've made to a tentative rule set:
-The four big skills (scholar, constructor, expander, explorer) no longer exclude each other.
-Towers give the 30 research that they used to give.
-Call Flames now works on machines and undead units.
-Boar Rider is level 2, X Bow level 1.
-Undead Swordsman has Death Strike
-Hafling Settlers have Path of Life.
-Elf Settlers have 3/3 Archery
-Dwarf Bombard Tower is buildable. What about give it to Engineer at gold??????????
Air, I think Scholar is worth the cost, though you're right, it might not get picked very much, especially if one wants to go for domain spells and skill buildup. Short term, though, it's not as helpful as something like explorer. Personally, I would pick scholar over expander and constructor because I like going for research, but I don't want to build exclusively Magic Shrines.
