If they were level 0 then they might not give any experience when killed too.
But I've met people equally convinced that the growth of goblins does not compensate you for their many drawbacks. Ive also played them and find them a bit lacking. There are a few changes/improvements id like to test out some time.
Gepro won't play dwiggs because of how weak he sees goblins (and he will only play goblins) he said hes tried to win with them using any number of stratagies and finds them too weak.
Also their level 3's are not "cheap to compensate" considering their big beetles are comparable to say a boar rider or crusader or even maybe a wildblade in both power and cost. Big beetle might be a bit better then those but not by much. It also has twice the upkeep 3 times the level (mighty meek is dreadful against them because they don't have the strength they're level implies to compensate) and requires champion guild to make!
Thats why I think say 60-65 might be a better price for big beetle. This would make them easier to one turn. Goblins don't necessary need cheaper upkeep for their units, but they might need a few other improvements.
Plus theres only so many units that can be put into a stack and included in any fight. So being able to make many units isn't always that useful in major battles.
Question stranger:
If you agree with gandalf that goblins would be overpowered if improved any, then why were you planning to imrove them?
