I couple of comments in response to Air Warlord's post about units:
- I agree that Frostling Drake and Frostling Mammoth are a bit expensive given that they have Fire Weakness
- The Frostling Doom Wolf has decent stats (nothing spectular, but good) plus it has speed 50 and Path of Frost. (Path of Frost + speed 50 makes it easy to kill crops and some races/spheres have no way to undo that damage). Doom Wolf is powerful enough as it is.
- Undead Bone Horrow may not have high defense ... but 30 Hit Points should count for something. I think 190 is a fair cost.
- Also, I think Spider queen makes up for low defense with her awesome list of special abilities. 190 is also a fair cost here.
- Glutton has lower defense than a warlord but the Swallow ability is awesome ... plus Glutton is significantly faster than an orc warlord and has high attack, high hit points and swimming. I agree orcs are weak versus flying units ... but Glutton is powerful enough.
- A general note on unit costs: Level 3 units already are more efficient upkeep-wise than low level units. The only thing that works against them is their higher build cost. If you reduce the build cost of powerful level 3 units like Bone Horror, then it makes low level units even less useful when compared to level 3's (And I think level 3 units have enough of an advantage of low level units as it is).
- Also, I think you underestimate some of the abilities in the game. Concealment (Shade and Frost Witch) is a great ability for setting up ambushes. Energy Drain (Specter and Shaman) can make a high defense unit very vulnerable. Physical Protection (Witch, Shade and Specter) really does increase the durability of a unit. The Elder is one of the few units in the game with True Sight. I agree that some of these units needed to be tweaked a little bit to make them more useful ... but to say they have "No Good Abilities" is somewhat inaccurate.
