The Age Of Wonders Players’ General Poll

I got this idea of a poll form from another game forum where I frequent. I don’t know how this is going to work out, likely there would be another version of this poll to accommodate AOW2 matters not covered in this one once that game is released.

How to complete this poll form:

1) Cut and paste the original form into your message window.
2) Where a check mark or selection is required, simply type in an upper case “X”.

3) If a comment is required or needed, just type in as short an answer as possible.
4) Try to answer all the questions if you can.

I'm new to the board so I thought I would introduce myself by posting on the general poll. I don't know if anybody will read it, but here goes.

Note: I consider myself decent, but I'm lazy. I like a very easy game cause I find the most fun in crushing my opponents with little effort. To each his own don't ya know. Anyway, I've been playing TBS games for years so I can't really call myself a novice.

Notes: I don't have the uber-connection I had in college (ahh...T1..drool) so I only play with myself (uhm...wait a sec that doesn't sound right). I'm a perfectionist so I rarely do fast combat and milk every unit for all it's worth in TC if at all possible. Only late in the game do accept unit losses. Also, I think that most of the overland maps should be explored already since the races have been there for millenia but I wish there was a way to have caverns turned off on the exploration.

3) Did you enjoy the campaigns?

Notes: I've played both of them all the way through now and I have to say that I liked the cult campaign much more. Whether it was because I am inherently evil or because I kept my wyvern riders with me throughout the entire game (flyers are the key to making life easy on maps) I don't know. My next gambit is to take the lizardman path in one of the campaigns.

Notes: I'm really getting into the Azracs. I move so fast that L3 units become the L4 units and the units below that matter a whole lot more. Azrac Elephants are very nice as a result (All towers will be mine!!!). I like the goblins because they are cheap, good cave fighters, and have some of the coolest looking units. Halfling and Highmen are tied for third since Halflings have Centaurs and Bird riders which are nice and they also have hurl stones which is the best ranged attack of a non-hero unit. Highmen are just cool because of their increased movement and powerful units. Finally, Orcs bring up the rear b/c of the dragon, warlord, and swordsman. I find them crude and boorish, however, so they lose points for stupidity.
