As you enter the Valley of Wonders, below you see a pleasant looking two story building. As you walk up to it, you see a sign above the door way saying 'The Valley of Wonders Inn'. You step inside and look around. There are many elves, dwarves and men sitting around the bar, drinking, eating and talking. In the corner, a large warm fire blazes. Upstairs there are many rooms with comftable bed where a weary traveller can rest his head Here you can chat about whatever you please or have a meal or just spend time with friends.

the full time money is not bad though.=)

People follow the light, blinded by just cause, but what has the light brought them? It has only caused me pain, while the darkness embraced me and kept me deep within its shadows away from my pursuers and made them suffer for their crimes against me

I suppose.

Still, to get into the area I want to, I'm gonna have to get loads of volunteering experience. Yay...

eh, i wouldn't worry about it, once you get that volunteering over and done with it should be worth it if its some area you really want to get into! go for it!

Nah, I don't mind volunteering, I just have a few nerves. Firstly, the cost. I'm paying for a bit before I can get an income. Secondly, I've never been away from home for more than a few weeks at a period, and a lot of these are three months at least. Also, in the summer, I only have a couple of months off, and I wanna spend some of that doing reading for masters, so a month would be ideal but I'm not sure if it's possible. Finally, if I'm conscripted to teaching English, I can't see how you can do that without knowing the local language. And I can only recall a few words in Chichewe and Swahili for example. Just saying things in English I can't imagine working, although it did for Robin Williams...

I thought of contributing into this discussion with two posts, but once finished writing them, decided to erase them both.
I am simply too tired of being condemned as provocator simply because of wide range of opinions and looking things from many angles. This post is most useless indeed, but after actually writing two posts before this, I couldn't just leave without posting.
So basicly, this is spam. Now carry on.

I would say yes, although maybe that's me being blinded by love. But some of the times we had when we were together were so wonderfull that all the hard times were worth it and always would be. I would sacrifice so much for her, I'd go to hell and back for her. Since it's unlikely that we'll get back together, I just really hope we can remain friends otherwise those memories will be tarnished forever

2 months and not a soul has spoken in this place, it seems all lords are busy conquering lands in tourneys and feudal matches. Me, I stepped away from this forum and many pbem matches around half a year ago, was facing serious s**t in the RL realm, involving my dad being diagnosed with cancer and myself leaving my tropical homeland for the old continent and getting married in the process. I, Slipkyes Sharpblade am now back into the realms, just took command of a wayward frostling army in the land of Icedale, don't think that will work out well. I am also waging war on First conflict and Barondir bay with a few personal mates from my country, that seems to be going well as they are all unexperienced in playing against thinking commanders and not just the mindless robots of the AI.

I feel as though I am opening myself up to just my bottle of lemon beer and the wall. Is anyone else around to share with a fellow warrior?

Welcome back. I hope your dad is okay. Congratulations on getting married.

I still check this forum sometimes, not sure if anyone else does. Don't really play AoW (any version) much at the moment though.

Thank you comrade, my old man is fine, he had his pancreas removed in surgery and is now starting chemotherapy just to eliminate any possible microparticles that could've been left around the pancreas area. Me, I'm looking for a job so I can move out with my wife and not have to live with my grandmother. Good thing is, she cooks and washes clothes, but we never have that alone time if you know what I mean.

Ah, hello there, fellow travellers. It has been a long time since I last visited the Valley of Wonders. And I am amazed to see it so much alike what it was back then.

Oh yes, I'd like to order some water, please. It is good to see you still alive, Ziv, although I doubt you will remember me. ^_^

I would kill for a good whisky myself. So, eh... banana boy, do you have experience in the field commanding minnions? are you currently giving orders in any map in the aow realm?
posted 04-04-10 02:15 PM EDT (US)     1582 / 1591
I am not giving orders to anyone at this time, sadly. Alas, my commanding days are over; instead I travel these lands as an adventurer.

Blimey! Glad he's okay and hope the chemotherapy goes well. Good luck with finding a job! That's something I should do one day...

I Love Bananas, I recall you. At least your name is familiar. The Valley's probably a lot quieter now than it was when you were previously here. Always good to see people coming back though!

I was actually rather surprised to see you here, too.
I've been playing AoW for far longer than AoM. Though I prefer AoM's editor.
I joined Heaven games looking for AoM info for the editor, but found AoWH shortly after I joined, and I've been here for almost as long as I've been in AoMH. I've just recently gotten started PingBEM though.
posted 08-18-10 03:57 PM EDT (US)     1588 / 1591
Yes, the AoM editor is superior to the AoW one.

I think it is, anyway. I've only played AoW II, and the editor there was only moderately good.

The AoW editor has but one kind of trigger. That of sending a message when you step on it. The AoW2 editor has more kinds of triggers, but are confusing and seem to still be quite limited. A lack of a 'play test' button also limits the games ease of editing.

Do you still play AoW2? I prefer the second game, mostly because it allows me to build my own cities in game.

I have a copy, and I would play it, but unfortunately it's been scratched a bit too much. I'm trying to obtain another one at the moment.
