Greetings from the year 2000! I was actually a mad scientist who invented a time machine in that year and have travelled 16 years in the future. Wow, the music these days is terrible!
Okay not really, but I can't imagine that many people still play AOW 1 now. I got it back in 2002, played it for a few months, enjoyed it, then put it back on th shelf to dig out at a later date. Life's many distractions meant that it took me 14 years to get round to playing it again. It took me a few days to get used again to the look and feel of it again, and I'd completely forgotten how to play it or what strategies to use! But I'm getting the hang of it again.
Anyway normally I'm the type of person to try things out for myself and see what happens, but currently I'm being distracted by the issue of concealment. Playing as dark elves in Kin Slayer I've been trying to get some "shadows" out into the woods to do a bit of subterfuge. Taking power nodes, taking unprotected settlements etc. But concealment is still puzzling me. I know that shadows are only concealed by heavy forest. But if an enemy passes or stops in an adjacent hex to my shadow, is that it's cover blown? In other words do you have to be at least two hexes away from an enemy to be fully concealed?
