Another one in the series of Warm Crevice maps by Roger the Rampant, this is an extremely challenging co-operative PBEM map where you play good races and/or the Lizards, all fighting against the evil races. You will lose the 4h good cities in the depths on turn 1 usually, the Azracs will also die on day 1, much of the surface will be smashed up by day 10. Your best chances probably lie with the lizards, and the good race cities in the caverns, but it also depends what the indies in the caverns do on day 1 - so good luck, you'll need it! These small maps are ideal for playing by email; a single-player version of the map is also available for download (which is somewhat easier!)
Warm Crevice was a fertile valley at the top of Madonna Sleggs. Various spats had taken place in Warm Crevice between the good gods and the evil races, but the good gods had always been outwitted. The keepers were desperate to hang onto an area with such fertile soil, lucrative gold mines and historical significance. They were dismayed to see the great highman warriors, Draco and Cay, slaughtered by the followers of Sauron, despite an intricate series of protective measures devised by the gods. "What chance have we of succeeding, when all the efforts of the good gods have failed?" asked Pheasant Plucker, the Halfling chief, at the Council of Elders. Donald McRonald the Highman leader spoke quietly but firmly: "Good must always triumph over evil - so cry havoc, and let loose the dogs of war"
A fun and challenging map. However, this map is possible to win contrary to the impossible rating. The lizards seem to have an advantage over the good races if they can kill the invading dragons and demons in the first few turns. The lizards unlike the other playable races do not need to worry about enemy units teleporting in their captial. A well made map. The terrain looks nice in this scenario. A good job.
