From Tolkien's "Lord of the Rings". The ring has been destroyed and the four hobbits return victorious from the distant wars, only to find that their own homes have fallen under evil. They rouse the Shire to rise up in revolt. This map can be played as either the Halflings (let's call them Hobbits...) or as Saruman's forces of evil -- Raise the Shire or Raze the Shire. Saruman starts with many units and all of the towns, but faces hostile populations in his towns. Although they are "the Orcs" (evil), none of the towns and few of the units are really Orcs, and therefore there will be many desertions and rebellions. To be true to the novel and for play-balance, Frodo should refrain from casting spells. Also, any halfling clerics that might appear should not cast Magic Bolts, and hobbits should not attack other hobbits.
8/31 changes: Two major changes as well as many minor changes:
A. Tweaks to avoid the Independent hobbits razing towns
B. Many pop-up events for the Hobbit player, all quoted from Lord of the Rings
This map is a brave effort to recreate tolkiens "Shire". players can play as marauding orcs who are basically humans or rebellious halflings. the map is perhaps a little too easy, especially for the orcs. the terrain is boring and bland in terms of looks and play. Play with halflings, with orcs as a CPU Emperor and leaders on map off for a real challenge

The terrain looks plain and boring, also waaaaaaaaaay to easy, even a bad player like me beat it on try number 1.
The only good thing about it is the storyline it is a preset by JRR Tolkien.
