This is AoW 1 single player map - created by Sprout for Map Making Competition.

Elvenkind parted ways many centuries ago, however to an Elf it was not that long ago. The pain of betrayal and hatred still runs deep among both sides. The Lizard King and Frostling Queen both recognize this hatred and have done their past to continue to fan the flames of hate. For many years the Elves and Dark Elves have slaughtered one another - giving no quarter nor asking for any. Both the Lizards and the Frostlings deeply desired island of Elmire. It was a place sarced to Elvenkind, but much of the land had been decimated by the warfare between Elf and Dark Elf. When the Frostlings and Lizards launched their attacks upon Elmire, the Elves were unprepared and the few defended were overrun. The Elven princess was slain by an orc assassin in the employ of the Lizard King - although most Elves thought it was their dark brothers that had slain her.

It was at this time...when a hero arose - determined to reclaim Elmire for the Elves he sought to fight against the tide of lizards and frostling creatures. The difficulty was that this hero, Anthur, was a dark elf by birth - yet he needed to enlist the aid of the Elves if he was going to drive the lizards and frostlings back from Elmire. Yet the old hatred runs deep. Can Anthur unite Elvenkind and reclaim Elmire before it is too late?

Note: This is set up for a single - player, with the human player as the dark elves. The Lizards and Frostlings can be adjusted to the difficulty level desired by the player. This is also a map to be played with leaders OFF.

As with a lot of maps I have played recently, this map is just too hard. Some map makers I gues believe it is fun to replay turns over and over again to get the best possible outcome. This forces them to need extremely hard maps. If you play that way, GO FOR IT! This map is for you. If you are like me and like to live with your initial decisions, then this map is a waste of time. The author created an original concept, and good story, but obviously builds the kind of naps that I don't like.
