This is the second map I am submitting. It is highly balanced in terms of start-off resources, distances to resources, crypts, etc. It is meant to be played with 2 human players and puts both on a level playing field. I recommend playing with my mod "Inioch's Competitive Lan Ruleset", but it can be played with standard 1.36 rules and can be played vs an AI.
It is Dwarves versus Orcs, with only a single level 4 castle (Lizards by default).
Really like this 1v1 map. Could option other than mountain clash
i noticed in editor before i played that everything is the same for both sides. like not the same structures, like the blood shrine vs healing spring, and different terrain, but same amount of hexes between all resources for both players. i thought that was cool
i liked some of the secret stuff but it wouldve been cool to have some pop-up messages to go with them. but there was signs sometimes
Map Design: 5
i liked how balanced it was and it looked nice with the details and terrain, not the same trees and mountains everywhere
there wasnt any pop-up messages or really a story but it was good map for just playing

You start with two 2hex cities and some income structures and can soon conquer others - although you have to be careful around some big garrisons.
The map is full of stuff going on, but at the same time the three routes to your enemy are far from instant despite this being a small map; one is through forest, one is through an up-and-down cave system, and one require boats.
The map is fairly symmetrical in terms of distances and balance, but it doesn't LOOK symmetrical. So it manages to be perfectly balanced without being a boring mirror.
This is the best designed 1v1 map I've seen. i love the distribution of strategic locations and the three routes between the two sides.

as above, but it also looks good.
There's no story or instructions, but not all maps need to have those.
Will surely play this some more.
