--- Quest of the Three Hordes ---

You can win playing any of the four good races. Just change the one you want to play to "human". Although the scenario is embedded in an XL map, it plays more like a medium to large scenario. The first third or so is familiar conquer the map. The remainder is a quest. You may find this a unique AoW experience.
Enjoy!

Background:

For as long as anyone can remember, the Land of Bink has been safe from
outside threats. Although there have been occasional squabbles over land,
as there are today, evil has stayed away from Bink. This may soon change!

Far away, in the land known as The Mountains of the Moon, the evil Kolandur and his seven wraiths have been plotting. They do not seek power or wealth, only death; especially the death of all that is good in the world.

For centuries, Kolandur and his wraiths have been imprisoned in The Temple of Petrified Tears where they could do little harm. Now the despicable Quazit has found the Hammer of Hordes and given it to Kolandur! With it, Kolandur can release great hordes of evil upon the land that will eventually destroy it. This you must stop.

First, you must conquer the Land of Bink as quickly and humanely as you can. Second, you must defeat the Dragons of the Gate and travel to the Library of Burma Shave. There you must discover what to do next!

A very special and very very well made map. The time and effort Vince has put into this one is impressive.

It strictly follows a story, and you find yourself wanting to play just that one more turn... It's fun to have to do some thinking instead of just running around killing 30-level leaders.

Story is great, details are great.

Only bad thing is that it can only be played once.

Well, this scenario was done with an enormous amount of effort. The map is detailed, rich and well laid out. Many pop up texts after passing certain points, many hints on well placed signs. Great.

You just will want to play - one more turn, another one ... Following a path of signs and a story, until you reach the end.
The only 2 downsides are minor ones: The scenario may only be played once - this is the 4 in playability. But to be honest i would rather play 5 of these in my AOW life than 50 of the >standard< maps.
And it is a tad too easy for experienced players. Especially for the enemy at the end wil easily be overwhelmed by - but that is for the player to detect.

Congrats to the designer. I´ve seen many >professional< scenarios in a wide range of strategy games before that were MUCH worse. A must play.

The best AoW Map I ever played. Im fascinated by such a creativity. The story is great and, as already said, its not only stupid running around.
