I don't have any "major" issues with the game other than the ease of the AI without wizard towers in every city.
Others can add all those racial benefits and whatnot, that's fine, I can play with or without them.
But, I can't seem to play and enjoy the game when the AI can be so easily over-run because of this one wizard, one wizard tower easily defeatable method of AOW:SM.
In AoW origional with "leaders offboard" you had to defeat the entire race. Made for some long and wonderfully challenging games.
As it is in AOW:SM an alliance just means certain death to the AI that allies with a human player. And even without an alliance one can still march 3 stacks to it's capital, bypassing all other cities it has and eliminate it from the map because it's wizard has no other place to go upon defeat.
And while some people say just make houserules not to do certain things, that takes away from the "features" of the game, I want to ally with the AI, and I want to trade spells and whatnot, but, it also opens that door of heh I want to crush the AI in one fell swoop, he's my friend now, I'll just send 3 stacks of units to it's capital doorstep and crush it in one battle.
I think the game should provide the challenge and not have those loopholes like only having one wizard tower and of course that stupid wizard means everything.
Just one simple element from the Origional AOW a "Wizard offmap" feature or "Wizard Tower in every AI settlement".
That's my want for an official or unofficial patch.
Or just tell me how to edit this, like I said, I don't mind doing it myself, I just don't know where to look or what to alter in the program.
