After playing some of the Warcraft 3 expansion, (Yes, I got in the beta, w00t) I started thinking about shops for whatever reason. Anyway, I realized they would be a fairly good addition to the AOW world. They would remedy some problems, for example a lot of people seem to be complaining about the life sphere having a much easier time keeping their heroes alive, what with healing and all. But the ability to get potions that take maybe 20 or 40 move points to use might help with this issue. (While healing remains a useful spell since it doesn't use mp if you have your wizard cast it) There's also scrolls and some such that might cast bless or something on that heroes party for that turn, and is destroyed after one use. Basic weapons and armor can also be sold (Magic Sword, some sort of cheap shield/buckler, etc.) so heroes can hold their own a bit better in the early levels when they can be easily killed if all enemy units focus on him. (Big problem with Priests) Granted this will probably make heroes harder to kill, but since most will probably arm them to the teeth, it will yield greater rewards when they die. (Be it in the items themselves or the money you get after you sell them ) Anyway, what do you guys think?
